I just had an email pop up from moneysupermarket; this was one of the deals it was promoting. I have no idea if it's a good deal, or a good scanner... but I though it might appeal to those shooting on film and wanting to scan

Avoid at all costs - cheap 'film scanners' like that are just webcams mounted in a box (as can be seen from what the computer identifies it as!) They give generally mediocre quality and are way overpriced.

Fair do's; therefore the lesson of the thread is dont get sucked in by the moneysupermarket 'good deal'

Yep, I agree with the above... I learned the hard way.

Me too; bought one of the Veho models. It was nice and efficient, terrible for colour slides (especially kodachrome), appalling for colour negatives (no real correction for the negative orange mask), not bad for black and white, but had a light leak as well. Anyway, Amazon were happy to take it back for nothing, sigh of relief all round, then had to persuade the Mrs I could spend 3 times as much on a better one.
