recently got back into film, and shot a roll of FP4 which I took to a local specialist here in the US. Got some prints back, and they all look great. He offered a negative scanning service for an extra few quid, which i took him up on.

problem is, the pics on the CD look terrible. an example is below.

my question is, is there something obvious i am doing wrong ? or have they just been scanned badly/wrongly. i dont want to go back if it is something stupid....

That's clearly a cocked up scan, I mean that is unacceptable even for a quick rough low rez jobbie.
I'd get them to do them again
 
Definitely odd. Maybe he scanned it on the wrong setting for the film type? I'm scanning a lot of slides at the moment and have to select positive (slide), b&w, kodachrome etc.

No thats crap, The Colours have been inversed, take it back.
