3rd Party 7D Batteries

I got a couple of these off Amazon

Work fine and even come with the orange contacts cover which my previous (more expensive) 3rd party batteries didn't have

They look the business Mike. Daft question but don't suppose you know whether or not they'll communicate properly with the camera through the grip ie showing correct power levels etc.

Cheers,

Danny.

The Duracell & Hahnel batteries have a good reputation for reliability - although I haven't used them as I tend to stick with Canon's own.

I do have a third-party unit - can't remember the brand - that won't take a charge now.

I recently bought one of these for my 7D. The camera registers the battery in exactly the same way as the Canon original.

I've found the camera/grip registers all my batteries fine, but the 3rd party ones are VERY tempremental when it come to charging.
Many won't take a charge, until randomly, one day, they do. Not sure what makes them change their mind. I believe this is a charger issue, not a battery issue though. Just Canon being awkward.

I have one of the Hahnel batteries and find it pretty good. It doesn't last as long as OEM but is half the cost so good value for money.
