3rd Party hood Vs Proper Nikon Lens Hood

Hey,
So heres the story im looking for a lens hood for a 18 - 55 kits lens and having looking at nikon ones and then looking on fleabay at 3rd party ones im wondering is there any difference as the nikon ones are 3x the price.

So basically the question is am asking is are there any difference between a 3rd party and a nikon hood or am i just paying for the name.

That was my exact thought when i compared the two, was just wondering if anyone did know any differences. Will see if anyone else posts saying any different but if not i will go for the 3rd party i reckon.

Not sure re the Nikon ones, but the genuine Canon ones are a flock finish inside to stop any reflection, as long as your looking at a decent make and they are of a matt finish inside you should be fine.

Will have to check that out see if its the same with Nikon
