I'm a bit of a nerd at heart and love technology as much as taking pictures. I've recently upgraded my 5D to a 5D2 and so am playing with every available feature (see my magic lantern thread too!)
The DLSR controller for android is brilliant. Could be really useful to a lot of people. Here are a few scenarios I imagine it to be valuable:
Self portrait. With a long USB lead you can manually focus, adjust settings, see live view and even review the RAW file afterwards! With only lifting a finger.
Macro photography
When it's cold outside and you don't need to move the camera
Timelapse You can leave your phone attached and it will do timelapse for you.
