Ok folks,
Yes, i'm gonna ditch the Canon kit lens EFS18-55 at long last, but.... what for?

I need the same focal coverage (or thereabouts) and have about £300
but i want something of substantially better image quality

ps: i already have a Tamron DiII 55-200 which will do for a while
and the obligatory nifty 50 ;)

Is there anything worth looking at in this price range, or should i bite the bullet and wait a few months (read: save a bit more)

ps: I'm not good at saving or waiting BTW !!

A touch wider and slightly longer focal length,plus very sharp lens
