400D Upgrade

My old 400D is getting on a bit and I'm considering an upgrade. I'm not in any particular rush but just had a few questions.

I assume it makes sense to stick to a 1.6x/APS-C sensor which would mean all my lenses remain usable (unless there's a good argument for moving to full frame)?

Given the above, it seems the 70D is the obvious choice? Is there an "80D" or similar on the horizon?
 
There's always an 80D or similar on the horizon - it's best to just get on with the job. And if you don't know that you need full frame - then you're unlikely to need it.
 
I was more wondering if an update was expected soon or was way off? Is there a semi-regular update cycle and if so where are we on it?
 
Also any suggestions on where best to buy a new 70D? I normally buy from Onestop-digital but the prices for UK sellers on Ebay seem to be quite a bit cheaper.
 
The 70d is still fairly new so a 80d isn't likely for a while yet.
