hello all ive seen a 40d for £400 bloke says its as new boxed with the barcode removed from box for a promotion, says its only had a dozen pics taken with it in a year as it was a knee jerk hobby he hasnt taken up. how can i tell he is telling the truth is there something i can do to check the pics taken thanks

Body only or with lens?
You need to ask him to emial you a photo taken with the camera, or go and see it with memory card and take some. WHen you put it on the computer, you can look at the data in the photo with a clever programme that I can;t remember the name of and it will tell you.
