40D Advice

Is there a wired cable release or remote for the Canon 40D? if so what are the parts No's I require?

I curretly use a RS60E3 remote switch, and RC-5 wireless remote for my 450D but don't think these are compatible with the 40D

I know it does exactly the same, but just curious Is there a genuine Canon one available do you know?

The Canon one is a tad pricey, so will probably go for the one Dean mentioned, I'm sure if it's good enough for him it's good enough for me!

I just have one more question...

I've just bought a 40D which was quoted as having a really low shutter count of just 328 actuations

how can I check / confirm this is correct when it arrives?

Or you could look at the all-singing, all-dancing TC-80N3.

Allows you to pre-program total number of shots, interval between shots, length of each exposure (useful if you want to exceed the 30secs that most cameras go down to) or timer before a shot is taken (above and beyond the 2 or 10secs available on camera.)

Unfortunately it's a bit pricey compared to normal remote release.
