Yes
Hi,
I have a 550D and love it. But I do like photographing birds/planes etc so always wanted a few more fps.
My eldest daughter started her A-Levels a few weeks ago so we needed to get her a camera.
She is now the proud owner of a 40D, I've been having a play this afternoon and wow it's all a bit different. I'm just hoping I get the chance to use it now..

Yes a jump up in size as well - fits my hands better and feels better to me than my daughters 450D - although there are occasions when the smaller size of the 450D is a bonus.

Enjoy it when you can borrow it...

Tried both but i prefer the 550D myself. Its lighter, newer.

I would agree, I actually prefer the 550D handling, and doubt I would really want to go all the way back to 400D specs that the 40D shares.

Thanks, I had to put a battery grip on the 550, that made it more comfortable. I would swap cameras I think but the 550 was a 50th birthday present, so I'm treading carefully :)

To get the equivalent of your 550D in the bigger size would mean upgrading to a 7D, the 40D would be quite a regression IQ wise.

I had a 40D and loved it. Fit my hands really well and loved the features it had. Moved onto a 5D MKIII now and it's a whole new experience again.
