40D prices

They will keep falling too mate. I'm keeping my beady eye on them as I want one too, with the 50D they are so cheap now. Got something from Warehouse Express through the post today, 40D (Body Only) is £518 and with the 17-85mm Lens it's £734 with cashback also. It's a bargain, although I want it with the lens so I'm waiting 'til after Xmas

The 50D came out 1 yr after the 40D. If they keep this new cycle up, the 40D will discontinue Summer 2009, the 50D will drop down to its place and the 60D will take the upper tier of the xxD range.

Yes you are right! I did the same with a computer once, almost every week prices were coming down and specs going up and I waited and waited.
Partly my point was also the people trying to sell second hand 40D's, why pay 400 second hand when you can buy new for less than 100 more!

Prices for the 40D seem fairly stagnant to me especially when I consider that I only paid £499 for mine brand new back in May from Warehouse Express. Admittedly that was £599 minus the £100 cashback of the time, but the actual cost isn't that different form todays prices.
