Yes
Had a slight accident on Saturday night due to drunken people at a private function I was working at.
Anyway the 430ex got a pretty good soaking, water is still visible in the head part of the flash.
The lights come on but the flash won't fire (tested it once then unscrewed everything to let it dry out).

Is it likely to be terminal? It got soaked with water, so nothing sugary.

As with all electrical items remove the power source and let it dry out fully before trying it again. As you have already tried it with water splashing around in the head its probably dead, nothing to loose now let it dry and see if it comes back to life.

If it doesn't then maybe there is a fixed price repair from canon?

I only tried it once so I'm hoping it forgives me. I've drowned phones in beer before and they've always worked again, so fingers crossed this time. And only cheap flashes for parties next time!

Stick it in the airing cupd for a few days ........... that seems to work with all of my wet electronic items !!!

Well that's a bit like locking the stable door after the horse has bolted.
Update on the 430: it appears all the moisture has gone from inside but it's staying on the radiator for at least the rest of today still (wrapped in a towel).

Thanks I'll do that now.
Have a feeling it's terminal though :-(

Spot on. Get all power sources out and dry it.

Unfortunately, it may well be that trying it out has killed it because something was short circuit at the time.

It takes longer than 2 days to let it dry out fully, so I hope it hasn't been tried yet. but as it was already tried its probably too late anyway.

Unfortunatly peoeple are always to eager to find out if it still works and switch it on before its dried and kill it.

You really don't want to be firing a wet flashgun. There's some serious voltages present to fire the tube, and they may not only be terminal to the flashgun.
