430ex ii foot break point.

Any ideas the price for a replacement foot assembly? Finally after years of working with drunk people someone's broken some of my gear Advice on where to send it to for repairs?

Had a similar problem. Canon charged about £80 to fix. Fix price repair. Took 3 days door to door ( on of the advantages of CPS membership)

If you want to do a DIY repair you can get a new foot assy from fleabay for about £10 and here's the destructions

Is what im on about, its the weak point in the.... neck? That snaps instead of the hotshoe on the camera itself.

Just in case you were unaware Sam, flashguns can carry very high voltages even for some time after they have been switched off. Be careful.

Yes I think so

The mk ii version of the flash has a metal footplate to make it more stable and probably stop it breaking as easily, but they still design a 'weak' point in, so this breaks if it get a bash, rather than damage to the camera body.

Looks like it maybe a trip to Canon for repair

Have a look here for the full assy aprox £30, you can get the plastic's cheaper but i cant find them at the moment
