450D linked to PC

Hello all,

My first post been viewing for awhile and im impressed with the forum... very few photography forums with great detail like this one

My question is... i have a 450D... i would like to link it to the pc so when i take the images it goes straight to the pc?

Is this possible with the 450D? i havent got the software CD in the box.

It is possible, you need the EOS Utility tool... It is provided as part of the camera package, but without the CD, that's another story.

yup, it's possible - everything you need would be on the CD that comes with the 450d.

let me know if you need a copy of the CD - i should be able to find mine and upload it or mail you a copy :]

You can do it with the standard Canon software - it's all free.

If you've not got the CD then you can download it from the Canon website; search for "EOS Utility"


EDIT: Details of the utility are here on Canon's site

and you can find it from this site to download - just filter by language and OS to get the list a little smaller!

Hey guys,

got it working :-D great job!

I was looking to get it working for trying some astro shots... with the usb extension lead i can sit in the shed... with a warm cuppa and let the camera work outside pretty hand for doing some self portraits i can actually get myself centred etc.
