450D Loosing Time / Date

Sounds like the small battery needs replacing. Sits just by the hing of the battery compartment

Yea, same as on a motherboard in a pc. If the battery is failing the date / time starts to act up.

Flaming heck - Canons support team are naff.... fireing out random pre done text..... asked about this battery so they mailed me that I have to get my lens fixed at a Canon center /facepalm.

I get this on my 30D when I leave the battery out for too long.. Not had it with my 450D that I can remember though

The 450D has a rechargeable one built in I think, it doesn't have a user-changeable one anyway, so if leaving the main battery in for a while doesn't help , the camera will need servicing.

I bought mine second-hand from here around a year ago when it was around six months old and I've never had an issue with the time.

Will Canon fix it free of charge ? If not take it back to where you bought it from if its only a month old!

All sorted - after much appoligsing I took the whole lot back to another shop to be swapped.... swapping just one part was against policy..... so guess what happerned when I got there - yep just swapped the body /handface.....

Any way - hopefully I wont have the same problem......

Anoying though.
