Hi all

was wondering if there is anyone out there (i'm sure there is) who has experience of both a canon 450d and a 40d, and if you could tell me if there is noticeable difference between the two in overall finished images.

I currently have an 1000d, but have found i have quickly outgrown it and i am thinking about upgrading, with the 450d and 40d being on my list as the candidates.

Any views, adivce etc welcome:thumbs:

In terms of upgrading from a 1000d to a 450d i question if there is much advantage to have! I have had a quick play on a 1000d and i own a 450d and honeslty dont think there is much point in upgrading to a 450d!

As said there's no point going to a 450D from a 1000.
Go for a 40D. I just moved from a 450D to a 40D and it's a step worth taking.
Don't go for a 50D unless you have good glass to make use of that sensor.
The 40D will be a good body that you can build glass up on and then see what Canon releases in the next couple of years :)

I have just upgraded from a 450d to a 40d. Now have both cameras. I am pleased with the decision. It is much larger and a bit heavier than the 450d. Why not go into a camera shop and ask them to run through the features of the 40d, handle it and see what it feels like.

There does seem to be a reasonable number of good used 40d on the various forums.
