4m Tethering cable for Canon 5D Mkii

Hi all,

Im after a 4m tethering cable for 5D Mkii.
Is it just a case of buying one from Ebay as they are all of a muchness, or will i see difference in quality if i buy elsewhere ?

I did hae a 5m cable and probably due to it being 5m (the limit) it was a bit temporamental.

Any recomendations would be good

there are extensions that boost the signal along a the cable , they are nit cheap , but i have a 5 m usb extenstion that always works on my d300s

I shot tethered last week for a demonstration at a workshop.
5m lead bought at the local computer shop; not too expensive and works a treat.
That active lead from Maplin is interesting, up to three of them can be chained to give longer runs; normal USB extensions are about 5m max.

I've also used a cheapish 5m USB extension cable bought from my local computer shop and it work absolultely fine - for me it worked just as it does when shooting tethered with the standard USB cable.

maybe the one i got was just cack as it didnt work well. Seems as though anything will do.

Thinking of getting the kit above and just linking with my short 1m usb Canon cable.

EDIT : Just ordered a kit. Hope it comes this week, need it for the 17th onwards

I've daisy-chained up to four USB Active Repeater cables for tethering a 40D without problem. Very similar to the product Neil has linked to.
