PS. Why is the Oystercatcher eating a mussel?

By the way, I wasn't suggesting that Shag and Cormorant are the same bird, just that this particular "Shag" is in fact a Cormorant :)

Because that's what they eat isn't it, not oysters...

A good set Chris, but the Lapwing has it for me, second is the OC 1, The detail and colours on the LW are good and it shows how well they are camoflauged against the BG. (y)
 
The Shag in flight is a cracking image Chris, the 2nd Oystercatcher is my preferred one of the two, mainly as you can see the legs. Is it a juvenile / 1st winter bird ?
