I have a new 50 1.2L and an 85 1.2L and they are perhaps a bit too close to each other.

I'm thinking I might sell or trade the 50 for a 24-70. Good idea or rubbish?

I don't think there's much point in you getting the 24-70 in all honesty, if you can find one, get the 24-105mm L then you've got the extra on the end.

sell 50 1.2 and get 35 1.4 :)

Do you use to 50 mm much? To be honest, the fact that you're asking probably means you're not using it, so would you use a 24-70 more? I would, but only you can say which you'd get more usage out of!

Some good thoughts there but I think a zoom would be handy. Maybe a 24-105 is a good option.

Thanks for the answers.

Bear in mind that if you swap your 50 for a 24-105 you'll be going from f1.2 to f4. Quite a jump if you really need the low light ability.

As much as I love my 24-105, being in your shoes I'd be inclined to sell the 50 1.2 and replace with 24-70 2.8 L
You'd probably find that the f4 of the 24-105 too slow, especially as your current glass is very fast.

I agree, I have both 24-70 and 24-105 and the 24-105 is still in the 5d2 kit box.

if you do find that you miss the 50 1.2, the 50 1.4 is pretty affordable, and the 50 1.8 is still tack sharp and dead cheap...24-105 gives you flexibility true, but at the cost of f2.8... depends what you shoot, I couldn't live without 2.8...

I'd get a Siggy 50mm 1.4 and the 24-70 2.8. Sadly I now find that f4 is too limiting. I do a lot of low/natural light stuff.
