500D Auto Confirm on auto focus points

This may be in my head but;

When the camera is in auto-focus points mode, it auto focuses fine, but does not confirm with a red dot on where it has focused.

When I get the images on to the PC, and show AF Point, all of them are red :thinking:

When I select where I want it to focus (eg centre point), it focuses and confirms with a red light, and is confirmed by the PC.

This is the same across all three of my lenses.

Is there something wrong with my camera, or something wrong with my head? :D

Sounds like something wrong with your camera. I have the 500D and have tried it in each of the 3 AF modes and it confirms with a red dot on all of them :shrug:
