500d beeping

I am currently out shooting wildlife and have suddenly noticed that my camera beeps every time i press the shutter.
I'm using manual focus and beeps are turned off in the settings.
Any ideas?

What type of beeping? Other than the shutter sound and mirror slamming down, I get no noise after I turned off the beep in the menu.

Although, I think I have a slight issue with my lens, when I have IS enabled and half-press the shutter, it emits a rather quiet but high pitched buzzing noise, could that be what you're referring to? I'm not sure if that's a fault with the lens or if it's actually supposed to be doing that..

Willing to bet this is the focus confirm beep. Do any focus points flash when this beep happens?

If so it can be turned off in the menus.

Yep, that's the only proper beep I know of with this camera.

I'm trying to record the beeping sound that my focus button does when it's turned on for you to compare it against, but I can't find anywhere to upload the file.

Anyway, I know you said you did turn it off, but just to make sure you've got the right one ticked, that beeping sound is turned off in the main menu (menu button) and second one down beneath the Quality option.

Thanks for the suggestions folks. I'd never heard this noise before as I'm hard of hearing and can't pick up high pitched noises. However, I had my hearing aid in this morning when I first noticed the beeping. It wasn't doing it for the first half hour or so and sounded like it was a split second after the mirror.

I've checked it a few times since getting home and it has now stopped :shrug:

Only beep I experience with mine is the focus beep, as said it'll beep and flash the focus dots at the same time...
