50D/5D2 control dials.....

Two guys at my place have these cameras and in manual mode would like them to reverse their function - i.e. the one that currently does the shutter speed to control aperture and vice versa.

They didn't have their manuals with them when I was training them and I couldn't find anything on the in-camera menus... heck, i don't even know if it's possible - anyone managed it?

pretty sure you were able to do it in the custom functions, google '5d mark ii manual' first hit is the instruction manual in a PDF format you can download, custom function IV-4 will change it over.

50D is exactly the same, custom function IV-4

edit misread completely, never had the actual buttons switched over before that custom function changes the direction of the dial

Just checked the manual for both of 'em and there's definitely no mention of it. It's custom function iv-1 on the EOS-7d though :shrug:
