50D in camera settings

Hi folks my 50D arrived today *happy dance* and I seem to recall a thread from a while back talking of various in camera settings it is best to have switched off. If anyone could point me to the thread or recommend the settings I should deactive I'd really appreciate it.

Turn off Auto Lighting Optimizer (ALO) and Highlight Tone Priority (HTP)
