Hi there,
I'm looking mainly for people with this combination of lenses as I have discovered a bizarre fault that is either a fault, or a known problem...
Basically, I have a 50D and the Sigma 10-20mm EX DC 1:4-5.6.
I'm having problems focussing manually, in that the shutter won't fire under some circumstances. Anyway, last night, I was doing some light painting, and had the lens set to manual focus. This morning I came to my camera, and it wouldn't switch on. Nothing. No lights, just nothing.
Further investigation has discovered that if the 10-20 lens switch is left on manual, the camera won't switch on. If I set the switch to AF, it works fine.
So...
- Does anyone else have this problem?
- Is it likely to be a problem with the lens, or the camera?
No other lens I have behaves this way (Canon 50mm f1.8, 24-105L, Sigma cheapy 70-300).
I'm a bit bemused to be honest...
Ian.

I wouldn't have thought the AF/M mode of the lens has any effect on the camera powering up or not...then again I'm no expert!
