50mm f1.4g or 105mm f2.8 micro or both

Guys,
This is doing my head in, but I am planning on buying a new;
AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G and a
AF-S VR Micro-NIKKOR 105mm f/2m.8G IF-ED
and have been reading up on both of these lenses and now I find out that the 105mm Macro lens is also great at taking portrait pictures, if that is the case should I just forget the 50mm and just go with the 105mm and (kill two birds with one stone)?????

Two entirely different lenses for diferent purposes though.
One is a macro that is also good at portraits, providing the subject is far enough away (or you want really close facial features), and the other is a low light general purose standard lens that is also good for portraits.

Have you anything wider than 105 for portrits should you need it? If yes, then maybe the macro is the way to go. If no, then maybe both. Or get the macro and the 50mm 1.8 an save a few hundred quid. Do you need f/1.4? Im guessing not if you are even contemplating just getting the 105 macro.

I also have the 18/200 that I bought with the D7000 but the largest apeture is f3.5............I really fancy the f1.4 to get that nice bootech (or whatever they call it)

Lol, I think you mean Bokeh, But I shall now forever more call it bootech.
 
The 105mm macro is great for macro - but for portraits and other types of photography the AF is horribly slow and hunts a lot (manual focus is fine hence macro is fine). The bokeh on the 105mm is excellent too imo.
 
Get the 50mm or if you want an uber portrait lens with oodles of bootykeh have a look at the sigma 85mm 1.4 It is next on my wish list for its sheer awesome ness - as long as you can get a good distance between you and your subject.
Oherwise an alternative on DX is the 35mm 1.8 and the siggy 85mm 1,4 it would make a nice prime pairing :)

I have a 50 and a 105 Micro.

Both are excellent lenses but the 50 weighs in at 10oz and the 105 at 26.5oz....that's 1lb 10.5oz.

If you are hand holding a 105 for any length of time consider the weight, it's one heck of a lump on the front there.

See it before you buy.
