Hey I've just managed to have a proper play with my 50mm 1.8 lens and i love it!

Strobe info: 1 x SB800 camera right shoot through umbrella at 1/8

Two smashing images. Great focus on the eyes and super colour. The mono conversion is good with spot on contrast. Nice little lens that.

Very nice couple of shots, especially #2, it's a cracker!
Stop it down a little and it is as sharp as a tack.
 
Number 2 has a very nice feel to it, soft (not in a negative sense) yet great contrast.

The only thing that bothers me is that strand of hair below her right eye (our left). Looks like the reflection off tears.

Yeah that strand of hair is bothering me too. I will have to clone it out.

My aim for these shots was to get the eyes as sharp as possible and the rest soft so I can test the DOF at 1.8 :)
