It is a shame I can have the Nikon on mine, that summarises the Canon selection pretty well.
 
So I did! Been a long, hot day... Amateur Photographer is the publication.
 
Interesting :) I was a bit surprised when I saw some review sites rate the Sigma 50mm 1.4 over the canon version, I sold my 'nifty fifty' a while ago so I might consider the Sigma at some point.

I took a bunch of test shots in a shop with the Canon and the Sigma. TBH there wasn't a lot of difference but I preferred the Sigma. As this one focused ok - apparently some have issues with the AF and the Canon's have a reputation for breaking I bought the Sigma.

It seems sigma (good copy) is better for use wide open, Canon - from f/2.2 onwards.

Sigma will have to do an Art version at some point, and canon is well overdue for an update. For now I am getting tempted to replace mine with Sigma 35mm instead.

Good to know, might actually be better buying a used sigma then so you'll know if it has any AF issues?
 
ANY make and model lens could have issues so whenever possible, try the actual lens you're intending to buy before forking out.
