Just quick review on the 55-250IS...It's great
I've just sold my tamron 70-300 because i wasn't impressed with the performance, especially at the long end.
I bought the 55-250IS to replace it, i received it at work today, and just took a couple of quick snaps to try it out and the difference was noticeable immediately, it was far crisper than the Tamron and seemed to focus a lot quicker too.
The image stabilization seems to do it's job very well too as these pics shows,
These are untouched straight out of the camera, taken in very over-cast conditions.

I sold my Tamron for £90 on Ebay - a good price for me as Jessops are selling them for £99,99 new atm
, and I paid a straight £100 for the 55-250IS - used, but mint conditon.
I think thats probably the best £10.00 upgrade i'll ever do !
