550D screen replacement

afternoon all,

I've had an accident with my 550D involving my desk, a two year old and the floor resulting in a cracked screen ( completely unreadable ). I've been trying to find someone locally to myself that can repair them but not having any lucky.

Has anyone replaced the screen themselves, was it easy and can you recommend somewhere to buy a screen ?

I can't afford to spend a fortune sending it off and getting an expensive repair, and at the same time I don't want to have to stop using it.

Any help appreciated

Thanks, I think I am going to have to have a go at doing it myself, although most of the screens I've found are all generic ones from China.
