58mm filter spacer

I don't even know what you mean by a "filter spacer"!

sorry guys, a spacer ring for a filter, apparently you need one to use a filter on a g10 (which my mate bought last night)

ie to put the filter further from the front element

was after a uk supplier for my friend who has picked up the lensmate bits for his g10 in the uk already and wants the filter to keep mud off the lens caving (I hate him too - I would love and cherish a g10 :P)

site said it needed a spacer ring, well he's already ordered the other stuff so might aswell test it when it arrives

I don't see anything on the Lensmate site about it a spacer being needed.

The only "spacer" I can see reference to is the 58->52mm stepper for the Raynox DCR250...

"Lensmate G10 Adapter - part A (out of stock until end of May)
Part A is always used with either Part B, the 72mm filter holder, or the Part C the tele section.

If you decide to use only the base section A the low profile Kenko Pro1 Digital Circular Polarizer 58mm is the only filter choice. The zoom range is limited to 28mm-50mm.

No UV filter will fit, the lens will touch the glass on start up. "

it says it will touch the glass, but it looks to me like a 58mm UV filter won't fit anyway and that he needs a 72mm filter...

I'm not sure anymore, before it was a 58mm filter and 58mm spacer, now on proper reading it looks like a 72mm filter, sod it look at it when it comes and mess around then

hi,
i was looking for a 58mm spacer for my g9 when i stumbled across your post. did you ever find one?
the problem i have is with the integral lens hitting the back of the ('zeikos') telephoto lens and switching off the camera. i either need a longer ( than 50.5mm supplied with the lens) adapter, or a spacer..

any ideas? i'm really looking for a uk supplier, too...

my mate just bought a standarm cheapy 58mm filter and it worked fine, no good for tele use so I can't really help your sorry :(

You need to know what a G10 is There is no filter thread on the lens.
You need a adaptor there is a ring you remove at the body where you can attach all lens adaptors.
To remove it you press the button on the body and turn it like removing a lens on a SLR.

Take a look here for a Canon LA-DC58K Lens Adapter for Powershot G10

The g9 ones are diferent to the g10 ones...but they work on the same principle.
