58mm to 77mm step up ring? (Peak District/Stoke on trent)

All my step up rings have come from Jessops - however, you're unlikely to find a single ring to go from 58mm up to 77mm. You may be able to get one from SRB-Griturn but they may have to make one specially for you - at a price and with a wait. I've just looked on their site and they have this http://www.srb-griturn.com/stepping-ring-58mm-lens-thread-to-77mm-accessory-size-2122-p.asp listed. They're based in Dunstable, Bedforshire though - spur of the moment decisions like yours can leave you frustrated, things like this are often not available in every shop - there's limited demand. Give them a ring and see if they can get one to you in time. Obviously, once it's in the hands of a carrier, it's not their fault if the carrier fails to meet a deadline but that's a chance we all have to take!

As a bodge/stopgap, you could attach the filter to the front of the lens using a bit of BluTak or similar - it'll probably leave a greasy mark but that should be easy to clean off. Keep an eye on it as well - you don't want a 77mm filter falling to the floor from tripod height!
