5D - Affected Mirror?

Morning All

Just reading the 5D recall for the mirror thing, but the picture on their web site is pretty crap, ironically enough :lol: so I wondered if mine needs the reinforcement parts or not....

I think they will only accept the recall of an affected product i.e.: if your mirror is already detached.
 
That's what the release looks like, but I called them and was advised that any 5D would be modified :thumbs:
 
I sent my 5D into AJ Johnstone (authorised Canon service centre) earlier in the year for a sensor clean under warranty... it came back with the mirror upgrade fitted :) Mirror had never come loose prior to this.

I have two 5d's and am going to get mine checked . I'm sure Canon would sooner just fix a mirror .. If a Mirror comes off and damages a lens then really they would have to repair that .. so in this case case fix it before it is broken might be the best thing
