5D Classic problem (suspect shutter)

I just got my 5D off eBay and I'm afraid to say it
looks like I have a problem, I'm posting in here to
clarify the fault is what I suspect, and if so how I should go about raising this with the seller. In the bottom right hand corner, starting about 5% up on the side until it disappears below the centre, I get a patch of the image that is a lot brighter and also appears heavily blurred below the diagonal line.

I've tested this with two different lenses, and also with mirror lock up enabled to eliminate it from enquiries. The problem is magnified at higher shutter speeds, so I think it is a problem with the shutter itself. I'm currently at work (on a moving train) so I could only shoot the LCD screen with my phone for an example. Nothing other than cosmetic wear listed in the auction as an issue.

I guess I'm after some constructive advice to see
through my slightly red mist, please. Oh, when I got the camera when pressing the 'info' button it said file no 4792 and folder number 111, so assuming that it's 9999 shots per folder, this has done quite a few shots then!

Update, so to help with my enquiry of the seller of the 5D I took some boringly similar photos where I could near to work, so here they are as reduced full shots and also showing the bottom right hand corner crops.

You can see the blurring of the corner if not much brightness change

Much darker as the shot was under-exposed but you can obviously see the bright diagonal line of what is I suspect the shutter.

It does look like a shutter problem to me. It's not a big deal at present - I could live with having to crop out a tiny sliver off each image - but it's likely to get worse over time. So if I were you I'd recent the camera and get a refund.

The file numbering indicates 104,000 images, which is a lot but not excessive. Or at least it would if the numbering could be relied on as an indicator of shutter clicks, but it can't. Your camera might have taken 4,000 or 1,004,000 or any other number.

So would you not recommend engaging with the seller on eBay and seeing if he'll pay for the repair work? That's my probable course of action as I have nothing to lose from doing so in my opinion, but thanks for clarifying what I suspected the problem is.

I see what you say about cropping, but I didn't go from APS-C to full frame to end up getting a crop photo.

For shutter count try astrojargon.net and download eosinfo it should work with the 5d classic and give you a true shutter count.

Not sure how it can be the shutter in your photo's because I was under the impression the shutter blinds moved horizontally and not at an angle.

I think the only way to truly find out whats wrong would be to send it to Canon for a check over.

If your not happy with the camera get your money back and find another one.

Well, the only variable in the shots I took (didn't think I'd post all five) is the shutter speed, and the higher the shutter speed, the larger the light patch is in the bottom corner. Different lenses, different apertures and the mirror was locked up too. If you're shooting below 1/200sec there's absolutely nothing there at all, so that's why I think it's defraction or similar around part of the shutter.

I had a similar problem with my 5D when I bought it, it seems fine after a service, something about cleaning magnets maybe?
