5D classic vs 1000D

Just google the screen specs, I think theyre the same?
 
I thought that the 5D and the 1000D had the same 2.5" inch 230,000 screen so in theory there shouldn't be much difference at all if any.

That's what I thought, same as the 400d too? To be honest I wouldn't worry about the screen. Sure it's nice having a good screen (couldn't believe how good the 50d 's was when I first saw it!) but as long as it's good enough to check the basics which the 5dc's is it doesn't really matter.

Agreed. The screen is only there to assist otherwise there is no comparison between the two bodies.

I can't comment on the quality comparison to the 1000D screen, but the rear LCD on the later 5DI production models (serial nos 2xx... and 3xx... IIRC) is superior (brighter and warmer) to that found on the early (serial nos 0xx... and 1xx...) models.

Unless you're selling the 1000D to fund the upgrade, you could always do some comparison chimping at time of purchase?
 
You cannot let the screen decide which camera to choose in this case IMO as these 2 cameras could not really be more different.
 
5D classic is still a brilliant camera. Don't forget you won't be able to use EF-S lenses. Great upgrade over a 1000D.

It's a well built, big, strong, heavy lump compared to the 1000D. Feels very good in the hand. You'll love it

one of the few cheapest routes into full frame photography and you won't be disappointed if you get it, especially if you have a good selection of L lenses.

Same screen both 2.5" and same screen dots of 230,000. Remember you will loose live view, but gain a whole lot more in other areas!
 
Didn't think the 1000d had live view anyway as it's a re-badged 400d?
 
Your set then, i went from a 450D with L lenses to 5D and the difference was unbelievable for me.
