Hey guys
I recently purchased a new 24-70 Mark II to replace my old one,
I own a 5d Mark II body
I found the 24-70 II to be SOFTER than my mark I version when wide open (especially at 70mm).
Have any of you guys seen this? I've read nothing but how sharp the Mark II lens is, yet I saw the exact opposite, I tried 3 copies in the store, and all of them the same, pin sharp on the mark I, soft on the mark II
We tried it on the 5D III and it was perfect, no problem at all on that body.
I'm wondering if this lens is not suited to the 5d II?
My 5D II just doesn't want to play with it. I have other sharp lenses (135L, 70-200L) and they are all fine on my 5DII so I know my body is working ok.
I'd be interested to hear any other comments on this. I'm gutted, as I really wanted this new lens. Looks like the only option now is to stick with the Mark I or go the whole hog and buy the 5DIII as well
