Those of you with a 5Dii , CS3 and who shoot in raw.

Do you use lightroom then edit in photoshop from Tiff?
Do you use DNG? (Only just heard of DNG, still not 100% what's the difference/good about it)
or something else?

There's only the odd thread about this on here and I wasn't sure what other people do! What do you do with your raw files? :)

I got CS4 lol

Tempting. Is CS4 any better than CS3 and is it much different? I've got a load of CS3 books and it'd be a bit annoying to have to relearn everything if CS4 is a lot different.... ?

I just do everything in PS - is there any reason you would need to use both LR and PS?

you would hardly notice any difference

I have CS4, but waiting for Literoom 3 when I intend purchasing that in order to organise my photographs

it a lot different if you use it as its meant to be used and not like it was CS3.
It has many better tools and some new ones as well.
As for 5D MK II you have to have CS4 or convert to DNG with adobe first.

Photoshop won't convert 5dii raw files. You need to upgrade to CS4. :(

I do use CS4 - I was just referring to the programs name :) and even CS4 needs the camera raw application updating to edit 5D II files

I obviously have no idea then... :schtum:

I have the same set up. Had to download adobe DNG converter (free) to get the Raws in CS3. Bit annoying, but happy.

I use LR2 to import all my images to DNG, do what I can in LR incl cataloguing & then export to CS4 if I need to do stuff in layers. I even prefer to print in LR.

I agree CS4 has a lot more to offer than CS3 although I would now wait for CS5 due in the summer
