5d Mark II Sensor clean issue

Im having issues when using the Mark II. Occasionally whilst pressing the shutter it does not take the photo and instead goes to sensor cleaning mode.

I have tried different batteries, grips, lens etc but still does the same..

It did on one occasion start working again when I took the lens off and put it back on again but now it just seems to get stuck...

I can use it for a short period before it starts doing it..

Anyone else had this problem and know a fix..

Are you Sure it's not in mirror lockup. So when you half press the shutter the mirror flips up and full press takes the picture. It's to stop camera shake with the shutter moving and causing vibration go into your custom functions and go to autofocus/Drive then go to number 6 mirror lockup make sure it is disabled.

never thought of mirror lockup...I'll check that but never use it...thanks for the tip..

looked at this and mirros lockup is disabled...any other ideas..

It's a long shot but you could try resetting the camera.
Remove battery, lens, mem card and coin cell battery as well and leave it for a whole before putting it back together.
