Hi,

I've got a Giottos LCD screen protector on my 450D and it's worked perfectly to keep the LCD screen in perfect condition.

Does anyone use something similar to protect the screen of their 5D Mark II? I've just bought a 5DMkII and want to keep the LCD in perfect nick but I don't want to put a giottos screen on it if it affects the screen quality.

Any thoughts?

I bought a used 5DmkII with a badly scratched screen. Replacement screens cost £30 and I replaced it easily enough despite non-existent DIY skills. Now I am not sure I will bother to add another protective screen on top.

Ok, £30 is the price of the giottos screen itself! When you say the screen can be replaced, can you explain what's in involved? Your DIY skills might be "non-existent" but mine are less than 0!

I'm using Jessop's own protective films, cut to size - £6 for three. I've put one on my other half's G9 LCD as well.

Doesn't affect the quality of the LCD, and worth it if it keeps the plastic pristine. I'm glad I'd put one on my old 5D when I came to sell it :)

I've got a GGS screen protector on mine. £7 on eBay - they are very thin indeed, made of glass, and won't scratch at all easily. I think a lot of people on here use them - highly recommended.

Good shout - for £4.98 delivered it's well worth a try! Do they come off easily enough? The thing I like about the giottos is that you can easily get it off if your alignment isn't spot on first time.
