I recently bought a 5dmk2 and have now discovered that all of my lenses are front focusing, so much that on 1 of them the micro adjustment doesn't go far enough to correct it. Has anyone else had this problem and cured it. Is it normal ? Any advice appreciated.

Not normal, no. Is it brand new? Under warranty? Got another camera to test the lenses on?

Have spoken to WEX? and they are now quoting 4-5 weeks to get it sorted. Very dissapointed for a brand new camera.

Less than 2 months old, lenses seem fine on 1Dmk2 :(
As above. Back to shop/Canon under warranty then. Elstree are very good and you've probably got enough equipment to become a CPS member (you'll need 3 "decent" lenses on top of your two bodies) which will qualify you for a quick turnaround. See: https://cps.canon-europe.com/

That's bad. See the link above for CPS membership. 5 day turnaround if you have enough equipment to make it to the Silver membership.

Thanks for the advice, just joined CPS so will hopefully get some joy there.

Another vote for Elstree, and if you can't go in then I'd suggest you speak to them and send in at least one of your lenses giving a problem when you send the body. They will set up the body and lens combo to give you spot on results.

Will be great to get this sorted. have mailed them so hopefully won't be too long :)

Thanks Mark, just found all that so will call in the morning. Appreciate your help.

Thought I'd update this just incase anyone else finds themselves in the same situation. I have now received a new body from WEX that I have tested with my lenses and is fine. If it wasn't for the Canon rep telling WEX to replace it then I wouldn't have got one as they were saying that it should be repaired. So thanks again to Mark for the good advice.

Excellent news Martin. Was it the CPS rep who helped out?

Hi Andy, yes it was. His name is Frankie Jim and it was him who told WEX that it was pointless repairing the camera without taking all of my lenses with it for calibrating.

Common sense prevails. Seems CPS is worthwhile then :)

Fantastic, glad to have played a small part to help out. Enjoy your new camera!

thanks Mark, the new body is fantastic and now the shots are in focus I can only blame myself for the poor photos :)

I don't understand why WEX took the stance they did. You were entitled to a full refund or replacement under SOGA. I recently had cause to return a soft lens to them and they changed it without question.

That is the very reason I have two bodies, in fact a Canon and Nikon kit, its like having an all in one scanner/printer, when one bit goes you lose the lot.

They said that I could only expect an exchange up to 28 days, I did quote the terms on SOGA and that did have an effect but I'll never deal with them again.
