5D mk2 lost settings

Bit of a strange one this...been shooting the little 'un today and as usual just shooting in raw. Got home, took some more shots, but when I went to import them, the ones from later on were in JPEG.

When I had a look the camera had JPEG selected. Reselected RAW then switched off, for the camera to reselect JPEG....

Can I assume there is a 'Watch' Battery that holds the camera settings?

Or am I being a complete numpty??:bonk:

I seem to remember something about Auto and CA not recording RAW.....you haven't got the mode dial in one of the auto positions by any chance?

Edit...scratch that, you can have RAW in auto

You hit the nail on the head there Bob! Must have knocked the dial when I put the camera back into the bag...definitely a Numpty!!

A bit embarassing eh Rob?....you'll have people thinking you've been using auto
I edited my original post but clearly the edit was wrong....it's 12 months or more since my 5D2 went so can't recall all the little foibles.
