5D MKII HD Recording help please...playback on mac is jumpy

I have recorded a few clips on my 5D MKII and they look and playback really good on the camera. However when i put them onto my mac and i play them back they are very staggered and jumpy. Any ideas why this could be? :shrug:

Graphics/video card not good enough? Just a thought, I don`t know anything about computers really.

I'm inclined to also go with graphics card, as HD video clips are very graphics hungry.

What are you using to play the clips? On my PC they only play smoothly with Quicktime

list the specs, if it has an intel graphics chip it probably wont handle the video

also what are you playing it through ? Quicktime, vlc??

edit: I tried a 60MB full res sample from internet and it was fine on my mbp3,1.

Does your imac video card support H264 codec natively? what OS X version?

imac6,1 is 2006 generation so there may be issues. Try getting full 4GB RAM set, it does help generally to make things faster. And update the software as much as you can, snow leopard would make sense for just £25 if you haven't got it already. Its the last OS it will run.

I have loaded the same video onto my Macbook and it plays fine but it still wont play properly on my iMac...a real mystery :shrug:

espesh considering a 7300 gt isn't too shabby I mean its not up to current gaming but hd playback should be fine

Did a bit of googling and the 7300GT is lacking a bit in the power department maybe the full 1080p video is causing its some problems, make sure though if you go into system settings then go into power saving make sure there is nothing in there that could be turned up etc..

also might be worth checking the GPU in your macbook & downloading a 720p clip see if that runs.
