5d mkii Zoom lens

Hi, having recently moved to Cornwall I have decided I need a zoom to capture some of the local wildlife. I have a Canon 5d mkii and my 3 current lenses are all canon L. I was looking at 100-400mm f5.6 L but noticed that Sigma do a 120-400 f4.5-f5.6 for a lot less. Now I know the Canon lens should provide better results but with me just starting to get into wildlife photography would the cheaper option be best?

The Canon 100-400L isn't actually that great to be honest (IMO). Results I've seen from the Siggie are pretty similar, plus the Sigma has better stabilisation. The other one you could look at is the Sigma 150-500mm OS, but it's a bit bigger and more expensive.

I was really happy with a Canon 100-400mm L on my 5dmkii on a recent trip to Sri Lanka so much so that I was sad to see it go when I sold it on yesterday even if it would jsut have gathered dust in my box of camera stuff!
