Yes
I have a 5dmk2 on the way (hopefully!), and have some (probably stupid) questions!

- Is there a limit on video length?
- What sort of file sizes does it give?
- How long does the battery last for video?
- Is iMovie ok for editing my videos? (they're not going to be that good, so i assume it will be fine )

Thanks

Your video recording time is a function of video resolution. Typically, for FAT32 formatted cards, you are limited to a 4GB file before you must stop recording and start again with a new file. The time depends recoding resolution but full HD could be as short as 12 minutes.

I believe that camera produces a H.264 in a .MOV container so iMovie should edit it as well as other common formats.

12 minutes on the video

sizes are around 500mb for 1 minute

yes you can edit in imovie but you'll want to convert the format first. Editing native is horrendous. convert to prores

Are there any good guides on how to do the converting?

i use compressor, it's a piece of software that comes with final cut studio.

Not sure what other mac users use to convert, someone will be along shortly i assume to advise

I believe iMove automatically converts the files you import to Apple Intermediate Codec (AIC).
