5D3 Joystick problem

The joystick on my 5D3 appears not to be working correctly, it will select focus points right to left and up / down correctly, but it won't move left to right. Is there something silly I could have done to cause this behaviour?

Assuming it's broken, is there anything I can try to get it working again, or it it back to Canon for repair? I've tried wiggling it to clean the contacts, but it made no difference. It seems this is a fairly common problem with 5D3's :-(. I'm guessing it's a c.£150 repair, does that sound about right?

Was going to suggest spraying a bit of switch cleaner, but not sure how well the button is weather sealed, so it may be pointless.

Have you got a 3rd party grip on it? When I had a 5Dmk3 my Meike grip used to cause the joystick to act strangely.

Thanks for the suggestions, it is sealed, so i don't think i can spray switch cleaner in unless i comprimise the seal. There is no grip, but interesting to note it could affect it.
