5dii or 1dsii? Oh please help...

Well Its what it says on the tin really and Im leaning towards the 1dsii but Id love to hear your comments.

I will be getting a 1dsiii, its just one of those things (unless the 5diii comes out in time and is better) so im wondering whether to keep the 5dii as a back or moving t a 1dsii as a backup. Help me out here people...

I wouldn't do anything unless necessary at this time of short supplies from Japan.

The biggest issue with 1Dsii is they are old and probably had 6-year longer constant pro use. That is certainly not the end of the world for me, though. The sensor is pretty good, nice colours, excellent sharpness, and very respectable high ISO performance. 5DII has mkiii sensor which is naturally a slightly in all respects. 5D has much better handling and video, while 1Dsii is much faster (3fps vs 5, and much faster shutter response time), 1/250s over 1/200s sync speed, full weathersealing vs none, great AF (but no microadjust!), super heavy even compared to mkiii, poor batteries. 1Dsii narrowly won it for me, mainly because of AF and sealing. Like you I can see myself upgrading to mkiii or the new 5D. Perhaps just wait till its ready.

If it is going to be as a pure back up camera, I would stick with the 5Dmk2 on the basis that it is a lot lighter.
