5DII with fast primes

Dean, an A1 or A0 print is not supposed to viewed from off your lap, it is supposed to be on a wall and viewed from a distance.
 
Yes, I know that, Tom. It's not the biggest issue. The biggest issue is that I like to crop virtually all of my images as I never feel the focus points are correctly positioned for ideal composition. It doesn't take long before a largish print loses integrity.
 
My other question is why are you cropping then, take two shots, one wide one close, simples :D

Did you read my last post? If I put my subjects focus eye on the extreme outer focus point with a wide open prime and take the shot there will be extraneous space above them requiring a crop for a more pleasing composition.

Besides, the D700 doesn't resolve detail anywhere near as well as my old 1DsII did. I miss that. A crop on the 1 series still held masses of detail.

I did read your post, why not post some examples of your problems.

1, a shot wide taken with an outer focus point.

2, a shot taken wide with an inner focus point but re-composed

3 & 4 as above but a close shot i.e. already framed in camera.

Only trying to help and stop you pulling your hair out.

Post me a raw file and let me see if my interpolation upscaling will make a difference.
 
D700 sold. Only got 50D here and Noah's awake now. :)

I know you're only trying to help, mate. I'm beyond help. ;)
