Does anyone use this combo and is there a marked improvement in the 85mm's AF on the 5dmk3?

I current shoot weddings with the 5dmk3 and sigma 85mm 1.4 and whilst I appreciate the quick AF with the sigma have had the occasional issue with AF tracking with it which can be a pain. The canon is a cool £1k extra so need to weigh up if it's worth the extra.

Any reviews/opinions greatly received! Thanks.
 
No idea but you could rent it for just £40 for a day from your local Calumet http://calumetrental.co.uk/canon-ef-85mm-f12l-ii-usm

You will however find that much cheaper canon 85mm f/1.8 is one of the fastest focusing lenses out there, and many pros own one in addition to L
 
I use that combo and I love it. It's actually my favourite combination out of all my lenses. Once you get used to the 85L's slow focusing, it's a dream lens. VERY occasionally you may have an AF quirk, but it's been so rare for me I honestly can't remember the last time it happened.

Nice pics! Yeah I've heard I there is an improvement in the lens AF on the mk3 which is good to hear if not dangerous for my bank balance!
