Another quick post,

had a research with some good quotes on prices, just putting it down to a perspective now, technologically speaking.

I've got a fair bit of experience with a 5dMkII, I like it, insane image quality but the focusing is worse than the morning after the night before.

Was wondering whether or not to go with a MkIII? Pro's, cons?

It is expensive but I paid £1969 for my first Mkii.

If at the time you offered me the Mkiii with the AF we have now, with the dual card slot for £2600...I'd bite your hand off.

had my 5d3 for a week now and you would have prize it from my dead fingers before i would give back, low light af fantastic, speed anf functionality is better than 7d, do what i did lease it from calumet

had an albeit brief play with MWHCVT's III in a pub last night... insane ISO and just felt so comfortable...

Not a canon user so cannot compare, but i did like the dual card functionality and the large screen.......

Woah.. 5DMkIII sounds pretty highly taken

No it isn't :) The original 5D, and 5D mk II, are classic wedding cameras, and the focusing is more than up to the task. The problem with AF is that everyone now expects professional-grade performance in sub-professional bodies - Nikon started the trend with the D700, then Canon joined in with the 7D and now 5D mk III. If you *need* professional AF, then the 5D mk III or 1D series is the way to go - but plenty of pros managed just fine without it for a long time :)

Just to put things in perspective.. :)

 your AF must be ****ed

I'm betting the one I had probably was now, I feel pretty annoyed!

I might have to pick up a decent one, the Mk2 sounds brilliant to rent, but I'll start saving up for a Mk3!
