This may be of interest I was out birding yesterday ( no birds ) but this flew round a couple of times both shots 600f4isLmk11 with 1.4tcmkIII 1/3200 f6.3 iso 800
both shots about the same size when taken .
3rd photo shows 100%crops and what the extra mps give .

Just showing a real world comparison .

1DX looks sharper in the first image but great detail from the 5DS.

Yes I agree, it could be because the 1dx has more than a stop better noise control .
