Please can anyone help with any of the following questions?

What is the purpose of a defusing board on a flash gun and how does it help / what situation would it be used for?

What is a soft board for? What situation would it be used for

What do the three settings of the flash gun mean (M, S1, S2)

Why would you tilt the flash gun at 90 degrees when taking a shot?

I have used picnik.com to edit pictures and I am really fond of the gritty effect but unsure how to match this effect in photoshop?

What situation would a gold reflector disc be used and how does it add benefit to a shot?

Um the diffusing flip down bit on a flash.. diffuses the light a bit, making it softer (harsh = hard shadows)

No idea... softening light used as a reflector perhaps?

No idea.. pluging - download.. search google for tutorial (youtube perhaps?) Depends on 'gritty'...

Warms a picture up more with available light... search for it under portraits and tutorials... was in some photo mags fairly recently.
